Ways to Help
Of course, the most important way you can help is by donating blood at one of our blood drives. In a typical year, we hold four blood drives: at The Shipley School (Bryn Mawr, PA) in February or March; in Radnor Township in May; in the Upper Gwynedd/Lansdale area in July; and in the Wynnewood/Havertown area in October. However, there are also many other ways that you can get involved. If you are
interested in assisting with the drive in any of the ways described below, we’d
love to hear from you! Simply email us at info@chablooddrive.org and we will
provide you with more information.
SPONSOR!
We think of our blood drives as a celebration, and what is a celebration without good food and party favors? All presenting blood donors receive a gift bag, special refreshments, and free entry into prize drawings. Our generous sponsors (both individuals and local businesses) have enabled us to offer sandwiches, pizza, salads, and sweet treats at the refreshment table, as well as drawing prizes such as gift certificates, jewelry, tickets to sporting events, and passes to local museums and gardens. Some sponsors have provided coupons or other items for the gift bags.
Information about participating sponsors is included in the donors’ gift bags, on signs posted at the drive, and on our website and Facebook page. Could you help us approach potential sponsors, such as your favorite pizza shop, local movie theater, or go-to store for gift items? Please email us at info@chablooddrive.org and let us know! VOLUNTEER!
We
can always use extra help at a blood drive, particularly at the refreshment table. This is a wonderful opportunity to thank blood donors for their lifesaving donation, while also making sure that they eat and drink as required after their blood donations. Do
you have contacts at local newspapers or at radio or TV stations? If you can put us
in touch with them, we can really get the word out to the public. And please
let your friends, relatives, and colleagues know about the blood drive. The
more donors who join us, the more patients who can be helped! Simply contact us at info@chablooddrive.org and let us know how you can assist.
